Authorized Service Provider

An Authorized Service Provider (ASP) is a technician or company explicitly approved by an equipment manufacturer to perform warranty-covered repairs. Using a non-authorized provider during the warranty period is one of the most common ways a manufacturer voids future coverage, even on issues unrelated to the work performed.

ASP status is granted per brand and often per equipment line. A technician authorized for Hobart dishwashers may not be authorized for Hobart mixers. Always verify ASP coverage for the specific model before scheduling warranty work.

Track ASP relationships in your CMMS alongside the warranty record. When the compressor goes at 11pm on a Sunday, you want to know immediately which on-call vendor protects coverage and which one voids it.
